Gemma Castro (She/Her) is a Mexican-American record producer, songwriter, composer, and engineer. She is an in-house engineer for Stones Throw Records, and has engineered for artists including Anderson .Paak, Julia Holter, Lauren Jauregui, and Jimmy Iovine. She has been commissioned for sound art installations and compositions by the Alliance for Women Film Composers, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Mike Kelley Foundation. Castro’s focus is composing long form orchestra and chamber music. Her compositions are cinematic and influenced by her history in experimental music as well as her Mexican upbringing in a Hollywood washed Los Angeles.
